You know you're pregnant when....

Yes I realize that in my short time of 9.5 weeks of being pregnant I'm not exactly an expert -
but I'll just shed some light on some observations I've noticed so far:

You feel fat all the stinkin time!  Remember back in the good ole days when you had good days and bad days?  Those are all over - just plan on feeling fat, and getting fatter for the next 9 month

Morning sickness doesn't only happen in the morning.  Sad but true.
{Whoever named it that has definitely never been pregnant}

All of a sudden your bosoms have blossomed into something you thought wasn't ever gonna happen
While this may at first bring great confidence and 'spousal satisfaction' don't get too happy because pretty soon they're going to hurt, and you won't like it so much any more
{also, I heard they get smaller after you stop nursing so yeeeah...}
Hormones are real and they have great power over you.
Sadly, you will have uncontrollable and rather embarrassing break downs that you won't be able to explain resulting in a very confused and distraught husband who just wants to help and make everything ok but all you wanna do is just cry it out.

The old "Your eyes are bigger than your stomach" saying won't really mean anything til you get that positive sign.  You'll be hungry all the time, but when you load up your plate, you can't finish it.
So you'll graze all day, and feel like even more of a fatty - its ok.... you're not the only fatty in the world and you can break that habit later ;)

Naps will become a daily necessity which is nice, but frustrating because
you feel like a lazy bum all the time

No worries though - there are many upsides:
Like the fact that inside of you right now there is a little person, growing and getting bigger every day and trusting you to be the best parent in the world.
So far its all been worth it - and you know something, I think it definitely will be when I've been carrying around this little baby for 9 months and then I go through the most excruciating pain and then the little angel gets set on my chest :)
That's what I can't wait for.

Baby :)

Yes, my friends, its true -
we are very happy to announce that we are having a baby :)

Do you believe me now???

I'll tell you how it all went down
{get your minds out of the gutter - not that info}

Mid January I was convinced I was pregnant
I had all the symptoms!
I wasn't pregnant...

When we thought we were going to have a baby we were just so excited that we decided
{After much fasting and praying and going to the Temple}
That starting our family was the right thing to do.
{FYI I've been baby hungry since - uh... forever!
and Jeremy wants a baby too}

We were so excited to find out in February that we were having a baby!
We celebrated by going to the park and having an In-N-Out picnic in downtown Provo
complete with candles and Martinelli's :)

Unfortunately, two days later we found out it wasn't meant to be
- I had a miscarriage
{FYI they are painful and gross...}

Doctor's orders were to wait a few months to try again - but uh... they didn't tell us that for a few weeks so......
Long story short on St. Patrick's Day we found out that we were given another shot at this whole parenting thing :)
{Jeremy thought I was joking when I told him.... }

But its true!
I'm sure you can understand why we took so long in telling everybody
But after a 1st doctor's appointment resulting in this:

And this:
{That's a heart beat :) }

And a 2nd doctor's appointment resulting in this:
{Yes we realize its a fuzzy picture but during the ultra sound we got to see its head and arms and it waved at us!!!! happy mommy moment}

We've come to the conclusion that this baby is here to stay!
We are so happy to be bring this precious spirit into our family and can't wait til
November 26th to meet him/her!!!

Claustrophobic

{Yes husband had to tell me how to spell that, but I think he spelled it on word then spell checked it}

I am getting way claustrophobic people!
At first I thought we could live in this place, no problemo - but we're about to reach my breaking point.

Its just too small, and I love windows, you know?  Light, and happiness, and the sun!
We only have windows in one window of our house and thats the bedroom, and its really just not quite cutting it for me.

Luckily, we've only got 5 more days
{including today}
til we go live with our parents who have big houses and dishwashers and windows and we are going to be such bums when we come home in August... :/

Hopefully we'll get into Wymount though and have a little more breathing room
*crosses fingers*

Well ttfn - ta ta for now
I gottah go study

ONLY 3 MORE FINALS!!!!
I got this... :)

LAME-O!

No worries I'm talking about me - not you.
But if you are doing finals week this week you may include yourself in this post too :)

I haven't showered in two days
{oooooo - did I just admit that?}

We literally haven't done dishes in FOREVER!
{I'd show you the picture but that would like document it forever - so we'll pass}
Plus - we don't even have a dishwasher, so you peeps who are laughing at me that have one - just stop
lol jk
And if you don't have a dishwasher

The rest of our house could be worse but you know
it is finals week!
And I have to work 25 hours this week, and its just not on my top list of
'ways to spend me free time'
yeeeeeah....
"Bad llama"
{That was a Emperor's New Groove Reverence incase you were wondering}

I also realize I've kind of sucked it up as far as blogging goes haha...
sorry : /

But a week from today, we'll have packed up for the summer and heading home to Spokane!!!! :)
I love going home!

Maybe my life will come together when we're living with my inlaws, who have a nice house and a dishwasher, and school's out - mmmmm.... :)
I cannot wait!
Not to be lazy, just... uh... idk what the heck I'm talking about or why the heck I still am.

p.s. husband wants you to know he started the dishes the other day haha

HELP!

I am new to blogging.

Well not super new, but relatively.

I started this as a way to keep a family record, and let our extended family keep up with us.

Since doing that I have had my eyes opened to the world of blogging.

I've been introduced to so many blogs, and people, and experiences and ideas and I'm just dying to let it all out and have what they have!

I was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited today when I had
 4 comments
from people I didn't know! WOW!
{Seriously guys... Its kind of embarrassing the giddy look that came across my face}

My guess is that all of you fancy bloggers that have hundreds - thousands of followers started out about where I am.

So I'd like to ask a favor - or rather, some questions.

How did you decide what you wanted to blog about?
How did you get people to follow?
Do you design your own blogs? Or do you have help?
Where does your inspiration come from?
Any advice would be oh so welcome :)

I hope to {someday} join the ranks of you guys - maybe not in the immediate future,
but I'd love to start working towards that goal.

Thanks a BILLION!!!

Sarah

sorry :/

Yes, yes I do realize its been a while...
A few words for you that will sum the past 5 days up for you:
tired.finals.stress.tired.

Yep... that's pretty much it.
Sorry, I'm lame I know.
{My journal thinks so too}

But hey, only 9 days til finals are over!!!
I know it will go fast, but I am so dreading it...............

But I'm having a happy attitude :)
trying ha

Awkward/Awesome Thursday

Awkward

1. How hard it is to spell awkward

2. Watching the guy behind me rock out in his car - rather ferociously

3. Sitting on the pot {meaning toilet} trying to just take care of my own business while being bothered by a fly.  I mean really?  Couldn't it have just held still and looked the other way for a few mins?

4. Running late to class {stupid full parking lot} and not really paying attention and almost stepping on a duck that squawked resulting in me squawking/screaming and the boy behind me laughing.... jerk

5. My friend {who will remain anonymous} running into me during our ice skating performance today
bahaha

Awesome

1. Coming home to a spotless house yesterday {compliments of husband}
and having flowers on the table :)
I tell you what peeps, I picked a winner - He is the ultimate bomb.com!!!

2. Dominating our ice skating routine today - other than previously mentions  {see Awkward #5}

3. Having so many blogs to follow I can't keep up!
Seriously - this is like one of the best things I've ever started - its so fun to hear from all of you and learn and be uplifted :) I love you guys <3

4. Being almost done with classes!
{4 more days!!!}

5. ok... so I don't know if I have one, but I'll let you know later ;)

#3

1. In 5th Grade I was in the play "School House Rock"
It was awesome!
And every time I hear the number 3 I think of the song
"Three, is a special number... yes it is.  Its a special number"

I doubt any of you want to hear the rest of it haha but yeah.

Two more number 3 related items:

2. Another of my favorite things is husband brushing my hair and holding me :)

3. I forgot to tell you guys the third AF joke I played on Jer
haha...ha
I took a screen shot of his desktop computer and posted it as his background
Then his all his real icons in a folder so it looked like they were there but when he clicked on them nothing happened bahaha
I'm so funny!

...he didn't think it was that funny :o

{Thanks Katelyn for reminding me}

Anyway how you have a happy April 6th

{6 divided by 2 = 3!!!}

2 things that make me smile

There's actually a lot of things that make me smile, these are just 2 of them:

1. warm bubble baths
{Note to self - have a bathtub like this someday}
I love letting all of my cares and worries and stress just melt away into the soft bubbles and the warm water

2. Hot Apple Cider
it just may very well be my weakness...
Its so warm and friendly and has this unique
 flavor that makes me feel happy and cozy and wonderful all at once!

Reflections on Life

***Warning cheesy, deep, long, arguably boring post***

I've been thinking a lot about life lately.
The purpose of life, and what it means to live a full life.
How do you enjoy life to its fullest, and be proud of the life you've made for yourself.
Do you want people to remember the great life you had, or just have your life be enough for you?

We know that our Savor, Jesus Christ, ultimately lived the perfect life.
We are to emulate Him and our goal is to become perfect like Him.
But how exactly does one go about that?
How do I be like Christ, while at the same time developing my own self and my own personality?

I've decided that our dreams define us.
What we imagine, hope for, work towards, and dedicate our lives to is ultimately what we become.
My dream is to be a wife, a mother, a sister, and a friend.
To raise a righteous family.

My dream is to buy a house by the sea
{The cold northern sea i.e. Oregon or Maryland}
and fix it up - preferably it being an old lighthouse.
I want to go on adventures with my kids, and take pictures of them exploring and learning about life.
I want to teach them to find beauty all around them, and make the best of whatever comes their way.

At the same time, I'm scared.  Scared that I'll keep dreaming, and never start doing, and that soon something will come and take those dreams away.
I've never really thought about death, and while I don't want to start getting myself paranoid, its definitely something that is somewhere in my future.
I don't know when I'll leave this earth, but when I do, I want to know that I've done all I can on this earth, and enjoyed every minute.
Its hard to imagine that there's a place better and more glorious than this, but I do believe that there is.

Henry James said, "Its time to start living the life you've always imagined."

So I guess I'm trying to tell myself to get off my butt and start being healthy, and fit, and start enjoying each day rather than dragging my butt out of bed each morning.

In high school I had a favorite saying that says, "Embrace each day with an enthusiastic welcome."
It really made my day better when I woke up happy, and embraced all that was coming my way.
I think I need to do that again.

 I just want to be happy - you know?
Not that I'm not, but I want to really live a life that I can be proud I led.
Today my Book of Mormon Professor told us that if we want a better life, and to enjoy our relationships more then we need to add more of the spirit into our lives - and I believe him.

So here's to my little experiment:
For the next three weeks I'm going to be happy.
I'm going to embrace the day, and love the world around me.
I'm going to add more of the spirit to my life.
Immerse myself in the scriptures and listen to a Conference talk each and every day.
I'm going to go to the temple once a week and work hard to learn of the Lord's will for me.
I'm going to work hard on my relationships with family, and friends, and especially with my beloved husband, Jeremy.  If I profess to love all these people and things, then I should be showing it.

I just realized that Easter is in three weeks.  So On Easter, I'll re-evaltuate myself and see how far I've come. If I'm successful {which I'm sure will depend on my actually doing these things} I'll continue to do it!  And if I'm not successful, I'll keep doing it til I am.

Sorry for boring the crap out of you.

Daydreamer

I'd be willing to argue that I am one of the worlds biggest daydreamers
{And by biggest I didn't mean fattest, I mean I do it a lot}

Sometimes it feels like all I ever do is think about the future and all the wonderful things that will happen in our lifetime.  Its fun, and it helps pass the time.

I used to be a BOY-CRAZY daydreamer.
Kind of embarrassing to look back on :/
but now I just daydream about me and jer and our kids and our future!

One of my favorite things to dream about is our house.
I have the ultimate dream house.

If you've ever seen the 2005 version of 'Yours Mine and Ours'
{First of all great movie! I also love the old one with Lucille Ball}
But in the newer one, the house the move into - that's my dream.

I couldn't find a picture, but there's a few little shots of it in the trailer.
Its an old lighthouse
{Obviously we wouldn't need one quite to big}

But I love that you can go up to the top and look out on the water
And I imagine us having FHE and reading scriptures up there.
And I love the entry way with the staircase wrapping around the inside
and the big chandelier in the entryway.
And I think it would be fun to fix it up and make it beautiful.

I don't know, cheesy, right?

Yeah... that's my dream.
I bet it'll never happen.
But I can always dream, right?

But for now, here's to enjoying our $450/month 500 sq. foot house
and all the memories we're making there now :)

APRIL FOOLS!!!

I'm happy to announce that April has not let us down
it is a BEAUTIFUL DAY
{again}

Also, it being the 1 of April, means that today is
April Fools!
Perhaps the best holiday - ever!
In 5th grade my friend Stephanie Kurth offered me a piece of gum on April 1.
Turned out it was like a mouse trap and it snapped my finger!
What the heck!?!?
Ever since then I've made April Fools my business
{At least one prank/year}

This morning I put a life saver in our shower head
{It was supposed to get Jer all sticky, but it didn't work :/  }
And I also put plastic wrap over the head of his shampoo bottle so it didn't come out
mouuah haha

I also did something else, but he has yet to discover it so I won't share on here yet ;)
I'm such a mean wife lol
